Malcolm Parry’s love of history has inspired him to write this interesting and fascinating book, a subject of much research, verification of accepted facts, of many details not usually included in such works, e.g. the development of the armed forces and the early organizing of sport.
Born just two months before the outbreak of World War II in 1939, Malcolm now lives in the re-generated centre of Bristol within its ancient boundaries. An accountant by training; a retailer by profession, having been a company director; involved in politics since his teens; and a student of history and Russian literature.
His passion for England and its history has been aroused by the great importance and successful progression brought about by William the Conqueror, who laid the foundation of England with the Norman feudal system; King Henry VIII for breaking the power of the Roman Catholic Church in England; and the wonderful accomplishments of the Victorian age.
